It provides a grid of elevation values, allowing for the visualization of landforms and terrain features in a digital format. They are created using data collected from various sources such as satellite imagery, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), or aerial surveys. DEMs are utilized in various applications including geographic analysis, hydrology, landform classification, and natural resource management. They play a crucial role in terrain visualization, slope analysis, flood modeling, and site suitability assessments for infrastructure projects.
Thermal imaging using drones involves capturing infrared radiation emitted by objects to create images that visualize temperature variations across a landscape or structure. These sensors can detect temperature differences as small as fractions of a degree Celsius. The drone flies over the area of interest, capturing thermal data from the ground or structures below. The camera records the infrared radiation emitted by objects, creating a thermal image of the scene. The captured thermal data is processed using specialized software to create thermal images or maps. This software translates the infrared radiation into visual representations, with warmer areas depicted in brighter colours (such as red or yellow) and cooler areas in darker colours (such as blue or purple).
